WHAT DOES THE BOARD DO?
The Sand Dollar Foundation Board of Directors is the elected body that represents and governs the foundation by establishing policies and procedures, overseeing the operating and capital budgets, approving plans and recommendations and setting general guidelines for staff, volunteers, providers and serving patients. The Board holds the ultimate legal responsibility for the operations and actions of the Foundation.

GENERAL COMMITMENTS

Attend monthly board meetings virtual and participate in occasional committee meetings.

Commit to a minimum term of service, typically 2-3 years, with the expectation of renewal.

Engage actively in at least one committee or special project that supports the foundation’s goals.

Represent The Sand Dollar Foundation at events, networking opportunities, and community activities.

Contribute to the foundation’s financial stability through personal giving, identifying funding opportunities, and leveraging personal and professional networks.​

TRAINING
The newly appointed Board members will receive thorough board training on our decision-making process, our board policies/procedures, and operating guidelines.
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible to run for the Board you must be willing to make a commitment for 2 year term, minimum.

SELECTION PROCESS
The board will review any submitted applications and will contact each candidate. Applicants are invited to attend our upcoming monthly board meeting and will have the opportunity to speak about their interests and qualifications. The current Board will review all applications and discuss all expressed interests. All vacancies will be filled by Consensus of the Board.
